Sorry I have been AWOL but insanity reigns...

..and I am feeling pretty shite at the moment, well sometimes anyway. As you know, I have bipolar disorder and while I am not on a major low, I feel I have nothing to give and feel rather dull at the mo! I hope to be back when my extra dose of drugs kick in next week, either that or I will be trying some laughing gas!

My episodes always make me shop and in the present month I have acquired 4 pairs of leopard print boots, 2 pairs of leopard print shoes, 2 leopard print handbags, 14 pieces of leopard print clothing, 32 bottles of glitter nail varnish and 14 bottles of glossy nail polish! I think it is safe to say that I will mostly be wearing leopard print and glittery nails! Madness is not all bad ya know girls! ;-D

Please keep posting on your monthly makes as it cheers me up to see them!

Why Do Modern TV's Take So Long To Switch On?

This is my thought for today or at least my irritation for today! Mind you if this is all I have to irk me then  have a pretty good life!

When I had a huge 'old fashioned' TV with a back on it that was so huge it may very well have been the the bow of the titanic in a previous life I presses the on button an had a satisfying click and a weird electrical ping as the screen lit up and the TV was on - 1 millisecond and no hanging about.

Now that I have apparently 'upgraded' to a TV that is thinner than an after eight mint it is a different story. I press the on button on the remote and nothing, no sounds, no pings and no indications that remote control is actually working. This is were my problem begins. I re-point the remote while muttering 'come on you blood thing), sometimes this is replayed a few times, sometimes I brandish the remote with murderous jabbing action in the hope that it will speed up the switching on. If I am lucky after what seems like about ten minutes the lazy bastard eventually switches on with an attitude that would make a sulky teenager proud! You really would think that a modern TV would be faster! WTF!!
Has anyone else notice this or am I alone in my techno-gripe!

"Poverty Can Be Romantic.....

...In Black and White it Looks Like Art" Joan Armatrading - True Love. I am so loving the new programme Call In The Midwife. It deals with inner city deprivation in the 1950's beautifully.

Paul Trevor
Art or Deprivation? Romantic all the same!

Thank you so much for all your very kind comments on my William. I would feel so guilty if I had not acknowledged his anniversary and let it go by without saying his name out loud!

In Loving Memory of my son William...

.. born sleeping on 15th January 1984. They say that time heals the heart.. it does not! I find it very hard to focus on a particular day of remembrance as William died on Friday the 13th of January 1984 and was born on Sunday 15th January after a very long labour. As today is Friday 13th it feels very much rawer than usual. I feel guilty if I acknowledge one particular day but at the same time it is very hard to mourn both.

Maternity

One wept whose only child was dead,

New-born, ten years ago.

"Weep not; he is in bliss," they said.

She answered, "Even so,

"Ten years ago was born in pain

A child, not now forlorn.

But oh, ten years ago, in vain,

A mother, a mother was born."
